Winterfest keeps participants warm
The first of those is the indoor comforts of Santa Central. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available to greet the children and take photos from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 9-10 in the Wild Carrot Herbal’s building, 116 W. Main St.
Families are asked to bring their own cameras on Dec. 9. There will be a professional photographer available to take digital photos on Dec. 10.
Hot cocoa, homemade cookies and lemonade will also be available in Santa Central. While there, children can enter to win prizes donated by the City of Enterprise.
Families can also keep warm by ducking into the “festively decorated downtown merchants,” according to a press release for the event.
The merchants will have extended hours during both days of Winterfest, and they will offer in-house specials and gift ideas.
The Wallowa County Humane Society will host Santa Paws at 104 N. River St. Participants will be able to take photos of Santa with their furry family members.
Additionally, Wild Carrot Herbals will start roasting chestnuts at 3 p.m. Saturday to help warm revelers’ cores.
Finally, the Enterprise Fire Department’s annual Four Alarm Chili Feed is sure to heat things up from 3:30 p.m to 5:30 p.m. on the corner of First and Main streets.
The chili feed is a fundraiser for the fire department.
These warming activities and more all lead up to the culminating event: the parade.
As viewers enjoy the lighted parade, which starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, they can vote for their favorite entries.
The procession will start at North Second Street and follow Main Street down to Depot Street. Children’s drawing prizes will be presented following the parade.
