Observer subscribers get discount for Holiday Music Festival tickets
LA GRANDE — Tickets for the annual Holiday Music Festival at Eastern Oregon University, sponsored by The Observer, are now available.
The Observer, 1406 Fifth St., has 50 tickets for each night of the concert, Dec. 2-3. Subscribers can purchase these tickets for a $2-off rate until supplies run out or until Dec. 1. The regular ticket price is $8 for adults and $6 for students and seniors. They can be purchased by the public at Red Cross Drug and the EOU bookstore. Checks should be made to EOU Foundation.
Christmas gift show opens at art center
BAKER CITY — The annual Christmas gift show opens Nov. 24, at Crossroads Carnegie Art Center, 2020 Auburn Ave. This open show features the artwork of local and regional artists and includes fine art, small prints, fine crafts, mixed media, jewelry, ceramics, local hand-crafted gifts, and original tree ornaments.
The show opens Friday from 5:30-8 p.m. with live music by Joanne Fletcher and light refreshments provided by the Friends of Crossroads.
The center will also be open until 8 p.m. during First Friday, Dec. 1.
For December, the student gallery will feature the work of Baker Middle School students.
The open show is sponsored by Dr. Eric & Kristy Sandefur and the exhibit will be on display through Dec. 30. Crossroads is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Concert features Good Times/Bad Times
LA GRANDE — Good Times/Bad Times, a La Grande band that covers memorable rock songs from the 1960s and ’70s, will perform at HQ on Nov. 24.
The band consists of Ashley O’Toole on guitar and vocals, Luke McKern on lead guitar, Roger Barnes on bass and Andy Steele on drums. The concert is open to ages 21 and older. The cover charge is $7. Cook Memorial Library’s Teen Movie scheduled
LA GRANDE — The monthly Teen Movie at Cook Memorial Library will be held at 4 p.m.
Dec. 1 in the Community Room. Teen Movie is a free event, open to anyone in middle or high school. Free popcorn and soda are included. Call 541-962-1339, visit the library, or view its web, Instagram, and Facebook pages for current movie title and upcoming teen events.
Side A Brewing hosts EOU Spirit Night
LA GRANDE — For one night only, come and see your favorite Eastern Oregon University
professors working at Side A Brewing. An extended Happy Hour will be held for students with an EOU ID from 3 p.m. to closing.
Shop Plaid Friday and Small Business Saturday
LA GRANDE — La Grande Main Street Downtown and more than 20 downtown businesses are kicking off the holiday season with Plaid Friday and Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24-25. Shoppers will be entered to win a gift basket with goodies from the participating stores.
Shoppers are encouraged to wear plaid and share their shopping adventures on social media with #downtownlagrande, #plaidfridayLG and #smallbusinesssaturday. Gift basket winners will be announced on Nov. 27.
